The Momentum Shift evolution in EA Sports FC 26 is unlocked by completing the challenging Ultimate Gauntlet objective, requiring five wins in a highly competitive mode.

To qualify, players must be:

Under 88 overall rating
Not part of the World Tour Silver Superstar category

Once applied, the evolution provides:

+3 Pace (max 90)
Quick Step+ PlayStyle
No change to overall rating

This makes it one of the most strategic evolutions available. Because it doesn’t raise OVR, it allows players to remain eligible for future upgrades while still gaining a meta-relevant boost.

The best strategy is to apply Momentum Shift to players you plan to keep long-term. This ensures the Quick Step+ trait continues to provide value across multiple upgrades and squad changes.
